Tunisia will have a national pavilion at the Venice Biennale this year for the first time since 1958, presenting a project that focuses on migration and freedom of movement. Called ‘The Absence of Paths’ the project involves Tunisian nationals who will issue visitors with a "freesa" at three locations across the city. It differs from traditional spaces with artists exhibited, and will instead be more symbolic and interactive which was an ideal fit with ARTiMBARC. The ARTiMBARC app hosts text and audio essays from a wide-range of individuals to showcase as many perspectives on migration as possible, and to give visitors information on the location of the physical kiosks around the city times of the performances and readings during the vernissage.

The Absence of Paths is happy to announce a collaboration with The Migrant Offshore Aid Station, a charity that has helped approximately 35,000 men, women and children – mostly refugees escaping violence, persecution and hardship – who would have lost their lives at sea whilst searching for a better life. It is possible to donate to this cause through the app.
